The Times Of India, is one of the most circulated newspapers in the nation. However, to retain its No. 1 position, it has many times out of desperation reported derogatory and false news.
The Times Of India reported a false news that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has adopted two drought-hit villages of Maharashtra, namely Tal and Koregaon. However, this is far from the truth and the newspaper is being bashed for this false report.
It has been confirmed that Khan hasn’t adopted any villages as was reported by TOI. However, Khan is involved with the Paani Foundation an NGO which is working with around 120 villages for their upliftment.
"The water issue in Maharashtra is worsening every passing day. To tackle this problem permanently, we have to give preference to the success of Jal Yukta Shivar and similar projects," Aamir had then said while addressing a programme organized by Pani Foundation.
